If you are into tournaments or simply enjoy watching or competing in Olympic-style Taekwondo sparring, then keep an eye out for the upcoming 2009 All California Taekwondo Championships to be held on 14 Nov 2009, at Jesse Bethel High School Gymnasium (1800 Ascot Parkway, Vallejo, CA 94591). This one is being hosted by Grandmaster William Kim.

Patrick competed in both forms and sparring, while Diego competed in sparring only.
In Patrick’s forms division, he was the third to come up. As other that came up after him and were scored, it became obvious he was number 1 because of his excellent forms execution–snappy, sharp, and with good rhythm.
The sparring event was an interesting one as well. Patrick won his first match through superior scoring (9 points to 2). His last sparring match was highlighted with a good score to his opponent’s head–just as the last second of the last round expired–earning him an additional 2 points.
Diego’s sparring event was a good one as well. Although this was Diego’s first real tournament event, he was able to claim the silver medal.
Let’s give these two athletes a hand for a job well done, and an awesome job representing Koryo Family Taekwondo at the NorCal Taekwondo Championships in San Jose.
